A landmark study called Bringing Alzheimer's Disease Biomarkers to General Practice (BriDGe) has launched in United Kingdom — Scotland, offering blood tests for Alzheimer s disease through GP surgeries. More than 50 GPs in central and northern United Kingdom — Scotland are participating, aiming to refer up to 500 patients. The tests, developed by F. Hoffmann-La Roche — Roche, detect proteins p-tau181 and p-tau217 in the blood, which reflect Alzheimer's-related brain changes.
