The partnership is a positive but niche development for the sustainable textiles market. It may strengthen Recover's position in recycled fiber supply and enhance Ünteks' appeal to eco-conscious brands, but the immediate market impact is limited.
Recover, a global producer of recycled cotton fiber, announced a partnership with Unteks Group, a Turkish textile manufacturer, to develop circular knit fabrics and garments. The collaboration combines Recover's recycled cotton with Ünteks' integrated production capabilities. The initial collection includes various knit constructions, all containing at least 20% recycled cotton. Ünteks' production capacity of up to 1.5 thousand tons of fabric and 1 million garments per month enables scaling for global brands. The partnership aims to expand the use of recycled cotton in everyday apparel.
