The India — Financial Intelligence Unit – India (NFIU) will launch the Nigeria Chapter of the global Women in Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism and Counter-Proliferation Financing (AML/CFT/CPF) Network on October 6, 2026. The initiative, championed by NFIU CEO Hafsat Abubakar Bakari, aims to promote women's leadership, mentorship, professional development, and collaboration across Nigeria's AML/CFT/CPF ecosystem. The global network was established during the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Singapore Presidency and expanded under the presidency of Elisa de Anda Madrazo of Mexico. The Nigeria Chapter will bring together women from financial intelligence units, law enforcement, regulatory bodies, financial institutions, academia, and development organizations. Additionally, Nigeria will advocate through the Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) for a West Africa Chapter of the network.
