Janus Electric's stock is likely to rise on the news of a significantly expanded order book and customer base. The United States — California incentive framework validates the company's business model and may attract further investor interest in the electrification of heavy-duty trucking.
Janus Electric, an Australian provider of diesel-to-electric truck conversion kits and battery-swap technology, has secured approximately A$45 million in conditional orders from four new United States — California fleet operators: Golden State Express, WEHACO, Tradelink Transport, and King Fio Trucking. The orders cover 67 conversions, 77 swappable battery packs, and four charging stations, boosting Janus's North American order book to 112 conversions. This follows a separate A$10 million order from existing customer Ability Tri-Modal earlier in the week. The deals are supported by United States — California's technology-neutral incentives, including HVIP vouchers and United States — Port of Los Angeles grants, which can reduce the net cost of a conversion to near zero. Janus is also progressing a pipeline in Canada and Australia. The company called a trading halt on the ASX ahead of the announcement.
