The Kano/Jigawa Area Command of the Nigeria — Nigeria Customs Service generated N63.08 billion in revenue between January and June 2026, a 7.4% increase from N58.39 billion in the same period of 2025. The Nigeria — Kano Free Trade Zone contributed over N26 billion, surpassing its entire 2025 revenue by about N4 billion. The command also recovered approximately N3 billion from transit procedure abuses and seized prohibited items with a Duty Paid Value of N1.71 billion, including unregistered pharmaceuticals, air pistols, elephant tusks, foreign vegetable oil, military gear, smuggled vehicles, and counterfeit agrochemicals. 22 suspects were arrested. At Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, undeclared foreign currencies and silver bars worth N175 million were intercepted. The command attributed its performance to reforms such as an end-to-end transit monitoring system and real-time revenue dashboard.
