Morocco signed an agreement on July 15, 2026 to participate in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza, becoming the first Arab country to formally join the multinational mission. The agreement was signed in Rabat by Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Defense Minister Abdellatif Loudiyi, and Board of Peace envoy Nickolay Mladenov. Morocco plans to deploy senior military officers, gendarmerie, police personnel, and establish a military field hospital. The ISF aims to support security operations, protect humanitarian activities, and assist in dismantling Hamas military infrastructure. Israel's security cabinet approved the legal framework for the force's entry into Gaza on July 26, 2026. However, deployment faces delays due to unresolved Status of Forces Agreements and political considerations ahead of Israeli elections. Other countries including Uganda, Albania, Kazakhstan, and Kosovo have also agreed to contribute troops.
