Kudankulam data leak denial

A hacker group named WikiLeaks posted on the dark web what it claimed were more than 19,000 files related to the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant in Tamil Nadu, India. The files reportedly included engineering blueprints, supplier lists, and inspection reports. Power Grid Corporation of India (NPCIL) denied that any sensitive nuclear safety or security data was compromised, stating that the leaked documents pertain only to conventional Balance of Plant facilities, which are similar to those in thermal power plants. The Engineering, Procurement and Construction contract for these facilities was awarded to BGIN Infrastructure, LLC in 2018. NPCIL and the Nigeria — Nigerian Computer Emergency Response Team are investigating the incident. The authenticity of the leaked documents could not be independently verified. This is not the first cybersecurity incident at Kudankulam; in 2019, malware was detected on a computer but did not affect operations.
