The Nigeria — Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) warned candidates against accepting admissions outside its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), declaring such admissions illegal. JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede, represented by Fabian Benjamin, stated that only CAPS-processed admissions with official JAMB letters are valid. The Nigeria — National Universities Commission (NUC), led by Abdullahi Ribadu, announced intensified post-matriculation monitoring to curb over-admission and enforce compliance with approved quotas. NUC also issued a national AI policy for universities and developed micro-credential guidelines. The warnings were delivered at the 2026 Annual Education Summit organized by the White House Correspondents Association in Abuja.
