The acquisition consolidates India's proptech sector, potentially increasing Aurum PropTech's market share and revenue. Aurum's stock fell 4% on announcement, but the long-term synergy benefits may enhance investor sentiment.
Aurum PropTech Ltd has signed a binding agreement to acquire 100% of Housing.com from REA Group in an all-equity transaction valued at Rs 458.06 crore. The deal involves issuing 1,97,93,309 equity shares to REA India, increasing its stake in Aurum PropTech from 5.54% to 24.9%. The acquisition aims to integrate Housing.com's marketplace with Aurum's technology ecosystem, creating a unified AI-driven platform covering property discovery, transactions, financing, rentals, and management. The transaction is expected to close before September 30, 2026, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. Aurum PropTech previously acquired PropTiger from REA Group in July 2025. Housing.com, with over 58 million monthly visitors and 12 million monthly active users, competes with 99acres and MagicBricks. The combined entity is expected to leverage a common AI and data architecture to improve efficiency and customer experience across the real estate value chain.
