The MiCA regulation is reshaping European Union — Europe's crypto landscape, with only a fraction of firms obtaining authorisation. Paymonade's licence positions it as a regulated infrastructure provider in a consolidating market, potentially attracting institutional clients seeking compliant fiat settlement rails.
Damoon Technology (Europe) AG, trading as Paymonade, has been granted a MiCA licence by Liechtenstein's Financial Market Authority, becoming one of only 280 firms authorised across the European Economic Area after the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation transitional period closed on 1 July 2026. This represents a drastic consolidation from an estimated 3,000-plus previously registered firms, with roughly 90% failing to convert. Paymonade, a Singaporean-founded fiat-to-crypto infrastructure provider with an annualized transaction volume of US$1.8 billion, can now passport its services across all 30 EEA states. The company plans to double its European Union — European headcount and increase annualised transaction volume to CHF 6 billion by mid-2027. Founder and Chairman Calvin Chiu, a former Singapore parliament member, noted the end of the lightly regulated crypto era. CEO Milos Winter Bogdanovic highlighted active discussions with exchanges, fintechs, and banks seeking compliant European Union — European fiat infrastructure.
