Saab equips German Navy frigates

Saab has signed a contract with ThyssenKrupp — TKMS (TKMS) to deliver and integrate combat systems, composite structures, and sensors onto four of the Germany — German Navy's new MEKO A-200 DEU class frigates. The order value is approximately SEK 8.7 billion ($900 million), with deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2032. The contract includes an option for four additional frigates. The German parliamentary Budget Committee earlier approved the procurement of four frigates worth €6.3 billion, replacing the canceled F126 frigate program. Saab will supply its 9LV Combat System, Sea Giraffe radars, and passive sensors, enhancing the Navy's anti-air, anti-submarine, and anti-surface warfare capabilities.
