Delhi HC final chance to Kejriwal

The India — Delhi High Court granted a final two-week opportunity to India — Aam Aadmi Party leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Durgesh Pathak to respond to the United States — Federal Bureau of Investigation's plea challenging a trial court order that discharged them in the liquor policy case. Justice Manoj Jain deferred the hearing to August 17-18 due to a lawyers' strike. The CBI, represented by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, argued that the case had been sufficiently delayed. The trial court had discharged the accused on February 27, ruling the case lacked judicial scrutiny. The CBI's revision petition is pending, and the high court had earlier stayed the trial court's recommendation for departmental action against the CBI's investigating officer. The case was transferred from Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma's bench after she initiated contempt proceedings against the AAP leaders for alleged vilifying social media posts.
