Johnson & Johnson — DePuy Synthes, the orthopedics division of Johnson & Johnson, has acquired Expanding Innovations, Inc., a commercial-stage medical technology company focused on expandable interbody cage systems for spine surgery. The acquisition adds a proprietary non-screw-based expandable cage technology to Johnson & Johnson — DePuy Synthes' Spine portfolio, strengthening its position in the lumbar fusion market. Expanding Innovations' technology is designed to mitigate post-operative cage collapse and vertebral body subsidence.
