The appointment is a routine board addition and is unlikely to have a significant immediate impact on Gevo's stock price. However, Werpy's experience in scaling technology and commercializing bio-based products may support Gevo's long-term growth in sustainable aviation fuel and renewable chemicals.
Gevo, Inc. (NASDAQ: GEVO) announced the appointment of Todd Werpy, Ph.D. to its Board of Directors, effective August 20, 2026. Werpy brings over 30 years of experience in sustainable technologies, R&D, manufacturing, and enterprise transformation. He previously served as Chief Science Officer at Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM). Gevo CEO Paul Bloom stated that Werpy's expertise will strengthen the board and guide Gevo's next phase of value creation. Werpy holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Executive Leadership Program. He holds 36 U.S. patents and is a recipient of the American Chemical Society's Green Chemistry Award. He also co-authored a U.S. Department of Energy report on value-added chemicals from biomass.
