India-Finland trade talks under EU FTA

Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal met separately with Finland's Deputy Prime Minister Riikka Purra and Minister of Economic Affairs Sakari Puisto in New Delhi and Helsinki to strengthen economic and financial cooperation. Discussions focused on enhancing trade and investment ties, expanding collaboration in digitalisation and emerging technologies such as AI, 6G, quantum technologies, and semiconductors, and exploring opportunities under the proposed India-EU Free Trade Agreement. Goyal also participated in the India-Finland Business Roundtable, and an MoU between the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CII) and Finland — Business Finland was signed. The visit included tours of Finnish companies Nokia, Kone, Kemppi, and VTT Research Centre to explore collaboration in telecom infrastructure, 6G research, smart mobility, advanced manufacturing, and clean energy. The visit aims to impart fresh momentum to India's engagement with Europe.
