The sell rating may dampen investor sentiment ahead of NSE's IPO, potentially lowering its valuation. Regulatory headwinds in derivatives trading could reduce volumes across Indian exchanges, affecting revenue growth.
Dolat Capital initiated coverage on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) with a 'sell' rating and a target price of Rs 1,550, 26% below its unlisted market price of Rs 2,085. The brokerage cited tighter regulations on equity derivatives, which are expected to reduce trading volumes and limit earnings growth. NSE's IPO, expected to be India's largest, remains delayed due to pending legal issues including co-location and dark fibre cases, with a proposed settlement of Rs 1,491.21 crore to SEBI. Dolat also initiated sell ratings on BSE and MCX.
