The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) launched the E-Commerce Council of India (ECCI) on July 17, 2026, as a national platform to unify India's $120 billion digital commerce ecosystem. The council aims to bring together industry, government, and other stakeholders for policy advocacy, research, and ecosystem development. Founding participants include Amazon, Walmart — Flipkart, IndiaMART InterMESH, Ixigo, Uber, Rapido, Shiprocket, EBay, Urban Company, Meesho, Swiggy, Eternal, MakeMyTrip, National Transport Corporation, and Tata 1mg. ECCI plans to focus on areas such as service and product e-commerce, cross-border trade, logistics, mobility, MSME enablement, travel technology, consumer trust, digital payments, responsible commerce, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
