Pakistan-China border security cooperation

Pakistan and China have agreed to broaden cooperation in immigration control, border protection, and institutional coordination. The consensus was reached during a meeting between Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, and a Chinese delegation headed by Qi Jingyang, Director General of China's Philippines — National Irrigation Administration. Both sides decided to speed up the completion of a bilateral agreement to simplify immigration procedures and establish a Pakistan-China Joint Working Group on border management and security. Interior Minister Naqvi announced a Pakistan — Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts checkpoint at Khunjerab Pass. China extended invitations to the Public Security Forum and will provide training to Pakistani police officers and language training to the China — Special Protection Police Force. The cooperation reflects the broader strategic partnership, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
