A joint team of the India — National Investigation Agency (NIA), Manipur — Manipur Police, and India — Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested two more individuals, Lungoulal Vaiphei and Lunminthang Sitlhou, on July 18, 2026, in connection with the abduction and killing of six Liangmai Naga civilians in India — Manipur's Kangpokpi district. This brings the total arrests to four, following the earlier arrest of Pradip and Ayingbi on July 10. The six Naga civilians were abducted on May 13, 2026, and their bodies were recovered on June 10, 2026. The killings sparked outrage and protests, with the United Naga Council (UNC) demanding justice, including the abrogation of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with Kuki militant groups, arrest of all involved, arrest of the village chief, and removal of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen.
