A flash flood swept through Muong Than village in Vietnam's northern Vietnam — Lai Châu province on July 17, 2026, after days of heavy rain. According to the Vietnam News Agency, at least four people were killed, four were missing, and seven were injured. Since July 15, landslides and flash floods have damaged roads, power grids, and hundreds of houses, and inundated 238 hectares of crops. The government's disaster management agency warned of more flash floods and landslides as heavy rain of up to 250 mm was forecast for July 18.
