The plan aims to maintain Bangladesh's trade competitiveness and attract investment after LDC graduation, which could support export growth and economic stability. However, the impact is gradual and policy-driven, with limited immediate market reaction.

Bangladesh is set to implement a new five-year action plan under the third phase of the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF), a World Trade Organization-led programme supporting least developed countries in building trade capacity. The plan, detailed in the Country Programme Document (CPD), includes 12 priority activities focused on export capacity development, trade facilitation, investment climate improvement, institutional strengthening, training, research, and use of artificial intelligence. Commerce Secretary Ataur Rahman Khan disclosed the plan at a validation workshop on July 19, 2026, emphasizing effective implementation. The programme is funded by development partners including the United Kingdom, European Union, and Sweden. Bangladesh previously completed two phases (2009-2015 and 2016-2024). The third phase is expected to start later in 2026.
