Telangana inspects private universities under SC order

The India — Supreme Court of India, during the hearing of the Ayesha Jain vs. India case, directed all state governments to conduct comprehensive inspections of private universities. In compliance, the Telangana — Telangana Technology Services Limited constituted a high-level committee headed by the India — Commissioner of Collegiate Education to inspect all private universities in the state. The committee is examining nine specific aspects mandated by the Supreme Court, including the rationale for establishment, feasibility studies, land allotments, governance structure, admission procedures, faculty qualifications, compliance with UGC regulations, financial transparency, and grievance redressal mechanisms. The findings will be compiled into an affidavit to be submitted to the Supreme Court, after which the state government will take further action as directed.
