The funding signals continued investor confidence in India's healthtech and quick commerce sectors, particularly in AI-driven pharmacy models. Increased competition may pressure margins but also expand the overall market for rapid medicine delivery.
Plazza, a Bengaluru-based pharmacy-focused quick commerce startup, raised $15 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Accel-KKR, Elevation Capital, and Live Oak Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors All In Capital and Better Capital. Founded in 2024 by Shishir Priyadarshi, Plazza uses AI-powered inventory management to stock over 40,000 SKUs per store, enabling prescription fill rates above 95% and delivery within 15-30 minutes. The company plans to expand from 2 to about 20 stores in Bengaluru by end of 2026 and aims for over 3,000 stores across India in 3-4 years. Plazza's GMV grew nearly 27x between June 2025 and March 2026. The funding round comes amid intensifying competition in quick medicine delivery from Walmart — Flipkart, Metric prefix, and Zomato — Blinkit, and follows earlier investments in similar startups like PlatinumRx and Truemeds.
