The India — Delhi Government has approved the implementation of the PARIVARTAN (Programme for Accelerated Renewal and Incentivisation of Vehicle Assets for Reducing Transport Air Pollution and Network Emissions) scheme, a central government initiative to replace old, polluting trucks and buses in India — Delhi-NCR with BS-VI or electric vehicles. The scheme, with a total outlay of Rs 9,585 crore, offers incentives including motor vehicle tax exemptions, registration fee waivers, interest subvention, OEM discounts, and fuel vouchers. It is expected to benefit around 2.07 lakh truck and bus owners. The India — Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs approved the guidelines, and states including India — Rajasthan, India — Haryana, India — Uttar Pradesh, and India — Delhi have issued notifications for tax concessions. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the scheme's role in reducing air pollution and modernizing the commercial vehicle fleet.
