The launch reinforces MPT's position in Africa's growing data centre market, potentially boosting its reputation and client confidence. However, as a private company, direct market impact is limited; the event signals continued investment in local infrastructure.
Master Power Technologies (MPT), a pan-African provider of turnkey data centre and critical power solutions, unveiled its hi-tech Customer Experience Centre and new regional headquarters in Midrand, South Africa, on July 20, 2026. The R50 million investment spans 6,000 m2 and houses approximately 200 employees. The centre features advanced test facilities including a 2 MVA UPS test platform and a 400kW cooling systems test centre, the most comprehensive of its kind on the continent. MPT, founded in 1999 by Menno Parsons, has grown from a UPS provider into a diversified engineering firm delivering end-to-end solutions for data centres across Africa and the Middle East. The centre will serve as a hub for training, collaboration, and showcasing MPT's engineering capabilities, integrating its proprietary AIVA monitoring platform.
