Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) announced an expansion of its collaboration with Nvidia to deploy an Nvidia DGX SuperPOD with DGX Vera Rubin NVL72 systems, creating what it claims is the most powerful and energy-efficient single-owned Nvidia infrastructure in life sciences. The Vera Rubin architecture delivers up to ten times greater performance per megawatt than its predecessor, enabling BMS to pursue larger AI workloads without proportional energy increases. The infrastructure will support BMS's AI-driven scientific programs across oncology, hematology, cardiovascular, immunology, and neuroscience. BMS's AI-powered research has already shown early results, including AI agents that automate target identification and validation, and its 'Predict First' methodology that informs experimental design. The expanded agreement advances BMS's vision of hybrid intelligence, where AI co-scientists work alongside human researchers. The cluster will support next-generation foundation models trained on BMS's proprietary data and leverage Nvidia's BioNeMo platform.
