Siemens announced on July 20, 2026, that it has signed an agreement to acquire Precision Innovations Inc., a privately held electronic design automation (EDA) software company based in San Diego, California. The acquisition expands Siemens' EDA portfolio with AI-powered chip planning capabilities that help semiconductor teams optimize power, performance, and area earlier in the system-on-a-chip (SoC) design process. Precision Innovations develops EDA software built on the open-source OpenROAD framework, enabling faster feasibility analysis and reduced design iterations. The company will join Siemens' Digital Design Creation software portfolio, complementing existing digital design and implementation capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.
