On July 20, 2026, a former US Army soldier, Andrew Arrabaca, set off fireworks and started a fire outside United States — 26 Federal Plaza in New York City, a building housing an immigration court and other federal offices. He was tackled by a security officer and taken into custody. Arrabaca was carrying anti-ICE material and had weapons including a pellet gun, knives, a hammer, and a machete. He fired pellets from an airsoft rifle toward the building. A bystander was grazed by fireworks and the security officer sustained minor injuries.
