The CEO pay hike may draw investor scrutiny on governance and pay ratios, but HCLTech's revenue growth and market position remain strong. The event is unlikely to significantly move stock prices, as compensation is backward-looking and already disclosed.
HCLTech CEO and MD S. R. Vijayakumar received total remuneration of $18.13 million (about ₹175 crore) in FY26, a 66.9% increase from the previous year, according to the company's annual report. The increase was driven by long-term incentives and stock options, including a $3.94 million LTI cash component and $9.4 million from RSUs exercised. His pay was 291.9 times the median employee remuneration. HCLTech's net profit declined 4.3% to ₹16,642 crore, while revenue rose 11.18% to ₹130,144 crore. Vijayakumar remains the highest-paid CEO among Indian IT peers, with Infosys CEO Salil Parekh earning ₹82.6 crore, TCS CEO K. Krithivasan ₹28 crore, Wipro CEO Srini Pallia $5.29 million, Mahindra & Mahindra CEO Mohit Joshi ₹67.5 crore, and LTIMindtree CEO Venu Lambu ₹27.26 crore.
