Negeri Sembilan election campaign permits

The Malaysia — Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in Malaysia — Negeri Sembilan approved 141 out of 143 campaign permit applications from July 18 to 20, and later 173 out of 178 from July 18 to 21, for the 16th Malaysia — Negeri Sembilan state election. Police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad stated that all approved activities are monitored to ensure compliance with the law and public safety. During the period, police received seven to nine police reports and opened four to five investigation papers, including two for election offences under Sections 427 and 435 of the Penal Code for mischief causing damage by fire. The overall security situation is reported as stable. Early voting is set for July 28, and polling day on August 1.
