The acquisition reflects ongoing consolidation in the UK outsourcing sector and a trend of London-listed companies being taken private. MitID shares surged 41% on the news, while the deal may signal further M&A activity in the sector.

facilities management outsourcing

MitID, a UK-based facilities management and outsourcing company, has agreed to be acquired by rival OCS Group in a £3.1 billion deal. Under the terms, MitID shareholders will receive up to 221.6p per share, a 44.7% premium to the closing price on July 20, 2026. The deal is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2027, subject to shareholder and court approval. OCS Group is owned by private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. The acquisition adds to a growing list of London-listed companies taken private this year, including EasyJet, Rotork, Intertek, Tate & Lyle, Evoke plc, Beazley, and Schroders. MitID reported a 10% revenue increase to £1.4 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. The company's CEO Phil Bentley, who announced his departure in March 2027, recommended the offer. OCS CEO Rob Legge stated the combined entity would create a stronger British facilities management group.
