Tuya's strategic investment in Robopoet strengthens its position in the rapidly growing AI hardware market, potentially boosting investor confidence in Tuya's growth prospects. The strong sales of Fuzozo and other AI toys validate the market demand for AI-powered consumer products, which could positively impact the broader AI hardware and smart toy industries.
Tuya Smart (NYSE: TUYA, HKEX: 2391) made a strategic investment in Robopoet's recently closed RMB 100 million pre-A financing round. The round also included participation from existing backers Sequoia China and GSR, along with two other new investors. Tuya's investment signals its accelerating push to close the commercialization loop for physical AI. Robopoet's debut product Fuzozo, a plush AI emotional companion, achieved cumulative domestic sales approaching 300,000 units as of June 2026. During the 618 Shopping Festival, Fuzozo sold 40,000 units, ranking first in Alibaba Group — Tmall's AI toy category. Other Tuya-empowered AI toy products also showed strong sales. Tuya's full-stack AI toolkit supports hardware developers, and the company aims to build a new growth model centered on AI platform empowerment, ecosystem collaboration, and global commercialization of AI hardware innovations.
