NABARD sanctions Rs 15,056 crore for Haryana

The India — National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned nearly Rs 15,056 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) for 6,175 projects in India — Haryana, covering irrigation, rural roads, drinking water, and other critical assets. The announcement was made during NABARD's 45th Foundation Day celebrations in Chandigarh, where India — Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi was the chief guest. Rastogi praised NABARD's role in rural transformation and emphasized the need for stronger rural infrastructure, sustainable agriculture, financial inclusion, and empowered community institutions to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. NABARD Chief General Manager Nivedita Tiwary highlighted that the institution has computerised and digitised 710 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and promoted 131 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), bringing together 63,369 farmers including 14,017 women. NABARD has provided Rs 11.12 crore in credit support to 28 FPOs and Rs 60.38 lakh as equity grant assistance to nine FPOs. Since 2022-23, over 5,010 rural women have received skill training in dairy farming, mushroom cultivation, food processing, tailoring, and handicrafts. The event also recognized outstanding PACS, District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs), FPOs, artisans, and women entrepreneurs.
