The shortlisting positions Critical Metals Corp to potentially secure a major rare earth asset, which could significantly enhance its portfolio and Western-aligned rare earth strategy. Positive sentiment for CRML and the consortium, though the outcome remains subject to final tender evaluation.
Critical Metals Corp (Nasdaq: CRML) announced that the Mrima Earth Limited Consortium, in which CRML is the lead party, has been shortlisted as one of three finalists in the Government of Kenya's tender for the Mrima Hill rare earth and niobium project in Kwale County. The consortium includes European Lithium and is supported by institutional investors. Mrima Hill is a world-class undeveloped deposit with direct access to the Port of Mombasa. The project is strategically important given China's dominance of rare earth supply and growing demand for magnets in EVs, wind turbines, and defense. The consortium plans an accelerated development approach and aims to build a regional processing hub. Tony Sage, Chairman of CRML, expressed gratitude to the Kenyan government.
