The financing strengthens Pure DC's ability to execute its growth strategy in the European Union — European AI infrastructure market, signaling strong lender confidence. It may also boost sentiment for data center and AI infrastructure investments, though the impact is sector-specific.
Pure Data Centres Group announced it has secured €1.3 billion in committed senior debt for Phase 1 of its Seinäjoki AI campus in Finland. The financing was arranged by five mandated lead arrangers: SMBC, ABN AMRO, Citi, Société Générale, and BPCE Group CIB. Phase 1 will involve over €1.5 billion investment for a 110MW AI facility, which is already fully leased (reportedly to Microsoft). The site can scale to over 550MW and €7.5 billion. This brings Pure DC's total financing secured in the past 12 months to over $4.2 billion, including a $2.15 billion facility for Dublin and Amsterdam campuses and a $550 million corporate facility. The company is backed by Oaktree Capital Management.
