The leadership change signals continuity in Ericsson's strategy for its Ericsson — Vonage unit, which is focused on CPaaS and Network APIs. The orderly succession is unlikely to cause significant market disruption, but may be viewed positively as Van de Weyer has driven growth in the API business.
Ericsson announced the appointment of Christophe Van de Weyer as Head of Business Area Global Communications Platform and CEO of Ericsson — Vonage, effective August 15, 2026. He succeeds Niklas Heuveldop, who is stepping down after leading Ericsson — Vonage's restructuring and return to growth. Van de Weyer, previously Head of Business Unit API at Ericsson — Vonage, will also join Ericsson's Executive Team. Heuveldop will remain available until December 31, 2026, to ensure a smooth transition.
