ByteDance — TikTok Shop U.S. chief security officer Will Farrell will testify before the U.S. House Select Committee on China on September 15, 2026. This is the first public testimony by a ByteDance — TikTok Shop U.S. executive since ByteDance finalized a deal to split the U.S. app from its global business. The hearing will allow lawmakers to question U.S. President Donald Trump's role in brokering the split and Chinese involvement in the U.S. app. The U.S. enacted a law in 2024 requiring ByteDance to sell the app or face a ban. House China Committee Chairman John Moolenaar had previously said he would host a public hearing in 2026.
