The programme is a state-level educational policy with limited direct market impact. It may foster a more entrepreneurial culture in Punjab, potentially benefiting local economies and small businesses over the long term.

Punjab's 'Sikhya Kranti' education revolution, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has achieved notable success through its Business Class programme. Introduced as a mandatory subject for students in B.Com., BBA, B.Tech., B.Voc., ITI, and polytechnic courses, the programme covered nearly 95,000 students in its first year (2025-26). Of these, 25,693 students started businesses, and 20,241 ventures generated nearly ₹90 crore in revenue. The programme focuses on practical entrepreneurial skills, with around 57,000 students actively engaged in business activities. Examples include Sourav's matcha venture, Sharanveer Singh's Skillexus platform, and various other student-led businesses across sectors. Due to its success, Vice Chancellors have recommended expanding the programme to all undergraduate degrees from 2026-27. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains highlighted the initiative's role in creating job creators rather than job seekers.
