AT&T reported second-quarter results that beat expectations on wireless subscriber additions, driven by its convergence strategy of bundling wireless and broadband services. The company added 432,000 net monthly bill-paying wireless subscribers, surpassing estimates of 338,500. It also posted record broadband additions with 367,000 new fiber internet users and 279,000 fixed wireless subscribers. Total revenue was $31.6 billion, slightly below estimates of $31.80 billion, but adjusted EPS of 65 cents beat the average estimate of 59 cents. Free cash flow was $4.7 billion, above estimates. Shares rose 5% in premarket trading.
