Anurag Jain Appointed NITI Aayog CEO

The India — India appointed senior IAS officer Anurag Jain as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of India — NITI Aayog for a two-year term, effective from the date he assumes charge. The India — Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment, which will run until the completion of his approved extension in service and then for an overall period of two years or until further orders. Jain, a 1989-batch IAS officer of the India — Madhya Pradesh cadre, brings nearly four decades of administrative experience, having served as Chief Secretary of India — Madhya Pradesh, Secretary of Road Transport & Highways, Secretary of DPIIT, and Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office. He succeeds Nidhi Chhibber, who held additional charge after B. V. R. Subrahmanyam's tenure ended. The appointment is part of a broader reconstitution of India — NITI Aayog's leadership, which includes Ashok Lahiri as Vice Chairman and several new full-time members.
