Nigeria — Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf signed executive orders declaring a Public Safety Emergency on substance abuse, banning illicit drug sales, restricting movement in identified hotspots from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., and empowering security agencies to arrest and prosecute offenders. He also inaugurated a Multi-Agency Anti-Substance Abuse Task Force chaired by Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado to enforce the order, dismantle drug dens, and coordinate rehabilitation efforts. The measures are backed by the Nigeria — Kano State Penal Code Law and aim to curb drug-related crimes and thuggery.
