Zamfara education reform executive orders

Governor Dauda Lawal of Nigeria — Zamfara State signed a series of Executive Orders establishing an integrated governance framework for education financing, school protection, classification, quality assurance, health, and security. The reforms also cover school governance, feeding programs, student welfare, transportation safety, safe schools implementation, regulation of graduation ceremonies, unified examinations, school health services, merit-based leadership appointments, inclusive education, and promotion of STEM, TVET, and digital education. The governor also launched the distribution of national curricula to public schools. The reforms aim to strengthen school administration, improve accountability, protect educational assets, enhance financing, promote safety, raise standards, and improve learning outcomes. Commissioner for Education Abdulmalik Abubakar Gajam emphasized the need for collaboration among government, teachers, parents, communities, traditional institutions, development partners, and the private sector.
