Egyptian healthtech startup Reme-D has closed a $1.45 million Pre-Series A funding round led by Anara Impact Capital, with participation from the Global Innovation Fund, Africa Health Ventures, and other investors. The company develops and manufactures molecular diagnostic tests for diseases including TB, HIV, hepatitis, and HPV, focusing on affordable, temperature-resilient solutions for underserved markets in Africa. The funds will be used to expand manufacturing capacity tenfold, move to a larger facility, and develop new tests for genetic diseases and cancer. Since its founding in 2023, Reme-D has commercialized 30 products and supplied over 550,000 tests across Egypt, Kenya, and Sudan. The company also equipped a solar-powered mobile lab for the WHO Egypt office to support vector-borne disease monitoring.
