External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar attended the 21st East Asia in Manila, Philippines, on July 23, 2026. He condemned attacks on seafarers, civilian shipping, and infrastructure, calling for adherence to international maritime law. Jaishankar advocated diplomatic engagement for crises in West Asia and the Gulf, reiterated India's support for a Code of Conduct in the South China Sea consistent with UNCLOS, and backed ASEAN-led efforts for a peaceful resolution in Myanmar.
