METLEN, through its defence arm M Technologies, signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Cyprus-based Yiannis Houtris to develop new industrial capabilities in defence systems in the Republic of Cyprus. The agreement provides for the establishment of a joint company in Cyprus, strengthening strategic industrial cooperation between Greece and Cyprus in defence. Under the European SAFE programme, the new entity will produce military vehicles. The partnership involves transfer of know-how, development of specialist skills, and expansion of Cyprus' defence industrial base. M Technologies brings international experience in advanced defence systems including Patriot systems, Leopard tanks, and FDI HN frigates. Yiannis Houtris contributes long-standing industrial expertise in defence and special vehicles. The initiative aligns with EU priorities to strengthen the European defence industrial base and strategic autonomy.
