The commencement of drilling at Estrades signals progress in the joint venture with DOWA, potentially enhancing Galway Metals' project valuation. Positive PEA results and DOWA's funding commitment support investor confidence in the project's development.
Galway Metals announced on July 23, 2026, that it has mobilized two diamond drills and commenced a 5,000-metre drilling program at the Estrades Project in northern Abitibi, Canada — Quebec. The program is part of Phase I under an Option and Joint Venture Term Sheet with DOWA Metals & Mining, which committed up to US$25 million. The drilling aims to obtain fresh mineralized material for metallurgical testwork and improve geological confidence. Galway released a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment on Estrades earlier in 2026. The project is a former producing high-grade gold-zinc VMS deposit, previously mined by Breakwater Resources in 1990-1991. SGS Canada will conduct metallurgical testwork at its Burnaby facility.
