Russia bans Armenian dairy imports

Russia's Russia — Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance announced a ban on dairy imports from Armenia starting July 27, 2026, following inspections from July 14-21 that allegedly found violations including use of milk from infected livestock and raw materials from third countries. The ban is part of a series of Russian restrictions on Armenian goods since May 2026, coinciding with Armenia's June parliamentary elections and its deepening ties with the European Union and the United States. Russia remains Armenia's largest trading partner, accounting for about 35% of its foreign trade.
