The robotic parking service is a minor operational improvement for Gatwick, potentially enhancing passenger experience and parking capacity. It represents a modest business expansion for Stanley Robotics into the UK market, but the financial impact is limited.
London United Kingdom — Gatwick Airport has partnered with Stanley Robotics to launch the UK's first robotic airport parking service at its South Terminal. Passengers drive into a drop-off cabin, scan their booking, and leave the car while robots lift it by the tyres and park it securely. Drivers keep their keys, and upon return, the car is ready in a collection area. The service, launching next month, works with 95% of car models and features 24-hour security. Stanley Robotics previously deployed similar technology at Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport in France, and EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg has reportedly signed up. The RAC Limited also released data on rising drop-off fees at UK airports, but this is separate from the robotic parking launch.
