NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case

A Delhi court on July 24, 2026, dismissed the bail plea of Dr. Manoj Bhagwanrao Shirure, a paediatrician accused in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case. Special Judge Ajay Gupta observed that the accused was an active conspirator in an organized paper leak gang, and that the alleged acts sabotaged the examination process, brought disrepute to the nation, and eroded trust of honest students. The court extended judicial custody of all 13 accused until August 6. The CBI alleged that Shirure accepted Rs 5 lakh from a candidate's family and facilitated access to the leaked chemistry paper at his hospital before the May 3 exam. He also referred two other doctors to alleged kingpin Medha Kulkarni, whose children also benefited. The India — National Testing Agency had cancelled the May 3 NEET-UG exam on May 12 and conducted a re-exam on June 21.
