India and Israel concluded the second round of negotiations for a proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) from July 20-23, 2026 in New Delhi. Discussions covered trade in goods and services, rules of origin, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, technical barriers to trade, intellectual property rights, customs procedures, and trade facilitation. Both sides described the talks as constructive and forward-looking, aiming to narrow gaps and identify areas of convergence. The Terms of Reference signed in November 2025 provide the framework. Bilateral merchandise trade stood at $3.93 billion in 2025-26. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his February 2026 visit to Israel, called for early finalization of an ambitious FTA. Further rounds are expected in the coming months.
